Welcome to the 23rd German-American Day at McDaniel College.

The theme of this year's German-American Day is "Einshoch6 auf US Tour". The highlight of this year’s GAD will be a workshop and a concert by the German band Einshoch6 https://www.einshoch6.de/

Various AATG chapters are cooperating together with the German Embassy and the Deutsche Welle to have the band tour the USA in October and November. They will start their tour at McDaniel College on October 17 and will end it at ACTFL in Nashville on November 18. https://www.einshoch6.de/theustour EINSHOCH6 from Munich is a one-of-a-kind band. Within Germany, the band is famous for their distinctive mixing of classical music and hip hop with clever German lyrics. The band regularly fills classical concert halls across Germany, drawing fans with their individualistic style of artistic expression. EINSHOCH6’s undeniably unique melding of German language, hip hop and classical music has propelled them to be the worldwide “Musical Ambassadors of the German language”. Since 2013, EINSHOCH6 has crisscrossed the globe exciting thousands of young people for the German language on 19 tours through Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. And now: the U.S. Tour! Through EINSHOCH6’s partnership with Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle, the band’s activities can be followed through an online video series; materials are offered on German language and culture for use in German classrooms; and workshops are offered for German learners and teachers. EINSHOCH6 stands for a culturally unique performance of music, language, and word play.
