On
October 3, 1990, Germany West and East united to become one single state,
the Federal Republic of Germany. The local Chapter of the American Association
of Teachers of German (AATG) and the Department of Foreign Languages at
McDaniel College (formerly Western Maryland College) invite you, your students,
and anyone who is interested to celebrate this year's German-American Day
on Tuesday, October 16, 2001.
The theme of this year's
German American Day is “German-speaking Countries in Europe”. Various
workshops on many aspects of life and culture of German-speaking countries
will be offered by McDaniel professors and advanced German students, high
school teachers and others from the community. The cost will be $12.00
per person which will cover program, lunch in our student cafeteria and
a T-shirt.
