The
Department of Foreign Languages at McDaniel College (formerly Western
Maryland College) invites you, your students, and anyone who is
interested to attend the 10th anniversary of the annual German-American
Day on Monday, October 18, 2004.

Here are some new options this
year:
- This year, Uwe Kind, developer of SingLing, a language learning technique
based on familiar tunes, and creator of LingoTech and rap songs such as
"Das Auto is kaputt," will offer a lively concert with
old and new songs, which are used by teachers and students around the
globe as a fun and effective way to learn conversational German.
- Representatives
from businesses that are either owned by German companies or deal with
German-speaking countries.
- Workshops
on Kindertransport , STASI, Berlin, Munich
- Workshops
on German games, German pop and punk music
- Workshops
on how to make gingerbread hearts or about Culinary Delights from
German regions
Other workshops on other
aspects of life and culture of German-speaking countries will be
offered by McDaniel College professors and advanced German students,
professors from other colleges, high school teachers, and other
professionals from the community, the German, Austrian and Swiss
embassies. Click on the link "List of

workshops.
