Evaluation Activities for Students Elementary Level: The following activity provides two websites about Cherokee Indians for your students to evaluate. It allows the students to read for information and take a short quiz based on what they have read. Critical Evaluation Surveys for Students Kathy Schrock provides surveys for elementary, middle, and secondary level students to help students be able to critically evaluate Web pages. http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/eval.html Marilyn Arnone and Ruth Small have developed a guide for elementary students to follow when evaluating Web pages. They call it the Website Investigator. http://istweb.syr.edu/AWArds/Invest.pdf This Site provides an interactive evaluation forms for students of all levels. Students can work with two browsers and answer questions on the form while they have the site they are evaluating open. The form can be printed and turned in to you so that you can keep a list of good sites and bad sites. It will also show you what the students have learned about evaluating Web pages. |
