plans to choose from. The site is
colorful and very user friendly.
Choose the grade range, K-2 or 3-5, listed under the traditional
elementary content areas (language arts, literature, math, science, social
studies) or additional categories: technology, cooperative learning, thematic
units, etc. The number of available lessons plans is also listed beside each
category. Many of
the plans do not include all of the required lesson plan components. Very few of the plans

Language Arts
Not the easiest website
to use, but it includes many well written lesson plans that focus on the
various language arts
components. Choose the grade band
K-2 or 3-5, then choose Literacy strand, Learning language, Learning about
language or Learning through language.
The next choice box includes the reading skill: literacy engagement,
fluency, comprehension, etc.
The detailed lesson plans include references to International Reading

Mathematics
Great website! Choose the grade range, K-2 and
3-5. Next, click on the standard: numbers/operations,
algebra, geometry, measurement and data analysis or probability. High quality, very detailed lesson plans
include concept background information, learner objectives, materials,
instructional plan, extensions, NCTM standards and references. There are website links listed to the
right of each lesson plan that provide additional related lessons. Date visited

Social Studies
Well developed
lessons. Choose the grade range K-2
or 3-5. Lesson plans are well
organized and easy to see the wide range of lesson titles at one time. They are grouped by the eighteen
national geography standards. Each
plan includes an overview, NG standard, objectives, opening, development,
closing, suggested assessment and lesson extensions. The extensions include helpful

Science
Quick and easy to
read, no frills lesson plans.
Lesson plans are categorized by life, physical and earth science. The grade level appears beside each
lesson. Each briefly written lesson
includes the objective, materials and methods. The links in the upper right
corner offer a nice variety of additional resources available. The museum website links are
