Thunder Hill's media center is where you can find books and magazines to check out. It is also where classes come to learn more about libraries........

When can you come visit the Media Center to check out books?

Most students will visit with their class once a week. If you need to come by to return a book or check out a new book, you may come any time that your teacher will allow you to that Mrs. Stapleton is in the Media Center and that she is not teaching a class. Coming in during another class's check-out or silent reading time is fine, if you are as quiet as they are supposed to be, and wait your turn. Usually the best extra time to come to find a new book or to get help is first thing in the morning. If you are a walker, the end of the day is good as well.

How many books may I have checked out at one time?

Kindergarden and 1st graders may check out only one book at a time.

2nd graders may only check one book out at the beginning of the year. When they begin to check out books from the Non-Fiction section, they will be allowed to have two books out at once.

3rd through 5th graders may have two books out at one time.

You may return the books any day, you do not have to wait until your Media day. When you return a book, you may check a new book out.

What if I forget my book on media day?

If you forget your media book, you may find and look at another book during check out and silent reading time. If you would like to check out the book that you have picked, you may give it to Mrs. Stapleton to hold until the next day. When you bring in the book that you've forgotten, ask Mrs. Stapleton for the book that she is holding for you, and you may check it out.
