Media Memos

Mission	Our mission is to empower all learners to become active and creative locators, evaluators, and users of information to solve problems and satisfy curiosity.
Vision	I envision a hubbub of curious students independently seeking out further learning.
Checkout	The media center is open from 8:00am until 3:30 pm. Students are welcome to come check out books before the 2nd bell rings in the morning (8:35) and until their bus is called in the afternoon. Students may check out two books or magazines at one time. They must be renewed each week.
Collection	We have approximately 11,000 books and magazines for grades 3 - 5. Our collection is diverse to represent the curriculum and student interests.
Intellectual Freedom and Access	All students and staff have the right to use the media center and check out any book/magazine that is available.
Selection	CCPS has set guidelines for selection of materials for media centers. Materials should be age appropriate, unbiased, free of stereotypes and represent a diverse community. All materials require two positive reviews from reliable sources. Both students and teachers may recommend a book for us to purchase.
