Before we begin our unit on nuclear programs and peace agreements, it is important that you know which countries have access to nuclear weapons.  In today's activity, you will access a graph that shows data on countries with nuclear weapons, their capabilities, and their limitations.

3) Answer the following questions in a Word Document.

1) Which country has the highest number of nuclear weapons?
2) Referring to the CIA World Factbook, which country has the highest number of nuclear weapons per person?

Mrs. Hopper's Tip: Take the total number of nuclear weapons, divided by the total population of the country
3) Which country has the most warheads of Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles?
4) Rank the countries in order of deliverable nuclear weapons, 1 being the most, 7 being the least.
5) Some of the weapon types listed in the graph have links to further information. Click on the link and answer the following questions:

a) What is the abbreviation, and what does the abbreviation stand for?
b) When was it first created, used, or bought by the country it is in?
c) If the description gives any other information you found surprising or interesting, briefly state it here.
5) In three paragraphs, answer the following questions:
How do you feel about nuclear weapons programs?
Do you think the world benefits from nuclear weapons?
Should any country be allowed to have nuclear weapons or access to nuclear weapons?
Should nuclear weapon programs be controlled? If so, how?
