Hours and Attendence Policies

SHS LIBRARY HOURS

The library is open from 7:30 A.M. to 3:10 P.M.. Students may come to the library from study hall or with a pass from a teacher. Passes are issued by the library staff to students who wish to do research before 7:30 A.M. and during activity and lunch periods.

 

STUDENT ATTENDANCE FROM CLASSES

Students may come to the library with a pass, check out materials, and then return to class. Students who remain in the library from their classrooms are expected to sign in at the circulation desk and work quietly. Use of the library from a class does not count as the daily study hall visit.

 

STUDENT ATTENDANCE FROM STUDY HALL

The number of students who may use the library is determined by the administration and the librarian . Students may use one study hall period a day in the library. Reading of newspapers and magazines is confined to the recreational reading area. Students sitting in other areas of the library should be quietly busy with school-related work. When study hall students check into the library they are to remain for the entire period.
