Reading for Information Using the Internet

How can we help our students read for information using the Internet? With all of the distractions and interactivity of the Internet, students need reading strategies for using websites as much as they need them for traditional print material, perhaps even more. Try this worksheet as the basis for a lesson when you are first instructing elementary students to read for information using the Internet, and then when you feel it is necessary to refocus the students' attention on the reading material. This worksheet uses the familiar "5P" reading approach, adapted slightly for the Internet. You may use it with any good website you have identified as appropriate for your readers.
