Biography

 

My Mission Statement:

As a School Library Media Specialist, my mission is to teach information literacy, support technology use, encourage a love of reading, and respect the diversity of the school community.

My Vision Statement:

In order to realize my mission, I will:

  • instruct students in the proper way to access, evaluate, and use information.
  • collaborate with teachers, parents and adminsitrators to ensure that students are safe, ethical, and productive information users.
  • provide a range of opportunities for authentic learning and practicing of information literacy skills.
  • ensure that a variety of materials represent the many cultures that make up our school community.
  • encourage and support the use of technology by students and staff throughout the curriculum.
  • provide physical and intellectual access to literature in a variety of formats, on a wide-range of subjects, and at multiple reading levels.
  • encourage all members of the school community to develop lifelong reading habits.
