Five Instructional Uses for Email-

1.    Compare social problems they may have. In middle school everything is changing in boys and girls. A lot of social issues start to occur at this age. They can talk about them without being face to face.

2.    Compare physical activity among the students. Many children are obese and this is a great opportunity for kids to get other kids motivated.

3.    Share physical education games. They can share different physical education games that they play together. It will give them new ideas and games to bring back to the teacher.

4.    Cultural Exchange. This is a great time to learn about different culture. What do they do in physical education class, do they even have class, and what do they learn? This is a great learning experience.

5.    Adopt a grandparent. Many elders love this program and it is great for the student to be a part of the senior citizen population.

Five Ideas of how I can use epals in my classroom

1.    Have each child use a chat room at least once a week. They can establish a epal and communicate with them at least once a week about there physical education experience

2.    They children can have an epal that is in another special class (art, music, sign language, etc.) They would be required to compare the classes and why they like certain ones better than others.

3.    By using the email and keypals the children are learning how to explore the internet, email and how to use keypals. This is a learning experience itself.

4.    The children can talk about there favorite sport team and why they like them. Also, they can address what their favorite activity is in physical education class.

5.    Students can explore what is special in there area: famous parks, statues, rivers, and places of entertainment. This is great because it allows the students to learn about the world.
