Email Suggestions

1)             Make the subject line catch the eye of the reader. Most people decide whether to open the email by the subject line. Make it great.

2)             Always use upper and lower case letters.  Some people consider it rude to use all caps or all lower case.

3)             Keep you message as short as possible. We live in a very busy time now and people do not have much time at all. If you message is to long they may just delete it.

4)             Limit line length to 65-70 characters and use hard returns. Most people still have monitors that are 14-15 inch and that would cause them to scroll to the right. This is more time conmsuming and the message could be deleted.

5)             Always spell check and give your email a quick proof read.  Misspelled words is not a good sign.

6)             If you want to send a message to multiple recipients and you do not want the recipients to know who else received the message, use the blind carbon copy function in your email.

7)             Answer your emails quickly. We live in a fast world and people expect quick answers.

8)             Please make sure your message is clear, complete, concise, and easy to read. If someone has to take a lot of time to read your message they may just delete it.

9)             Always use a good signature file. Many people do not use this at all. Go to google and do a signature file search for ideas.

10)       Make sure your recipients can download your attachments. Some internet carriers have a size limit on the attachments.

11)       Always save an angry or frustrated email to send later. That is the great thing about email is when can change our minds. Once we say it over the phone we can not take it back.

12)       When sending an important message send it to your self first. Once you send the email it is gone.
