The Falcon Ridge High School Media Center web site, developed for McDaniel's SLM Administration class, includes collection development and maintenance procedures, reflecting the mission of the media center and its school. Selection guidelines reflecting the mission include choosing multicultural materials that satisfy strict evaluative standards and are designed to meet the needs of a diverse student population. Weeding policies are also explained as part of the maintenance procedures. In addition to Falcon Ridge's selection policy, the MCPS Evaluation and Selection Policy may be accessed from the collection development page. Further, Falcon Ridge's Selection Policy is in line with Montgomery County Public Schools' mission to ensure success for every student. On the copyright page are links to MCPS guidelines and links to sites provided by Buddy Phillips, an instructor at McDaniel. Finally, a policy statement for challenged materials is explained in Section IV, F of the MCPS Evaluation and Selection Policy.
