Maryland Media Specialists must keep up to date about what is happening in media centers around the state. If we know what others are doing, we can share information. When another Media Specialist has a great idea, we can ask permission to use it. With these thoughts in mind I created an activity for School Library Media graduate students. “The State of the State’s School Library Media Web Sites” directs students to find, evaluate and use information found on school media web sites throughout Maryland, as they begin their own media center web site planning. Therefore, the artifact  meets this Acceptable level objective. The artifact also meets the Target level objective because it models ethical practices, asking that students seek permission before using any information found on other web sites. Maryland librarians, especially McDaniel graduates, have created outstanding homepages for their media centers. Let's share the wealth.
