Are you aware of how many state parks are located in Maryland?  Maryland is divided into 4 geographical areas with wonderful parks for relaxation and to see the beauty in this very hectic world we live in.

Your task in this activity is to look at each part of Maryland and see how many parks are in each part. You can see this by going to the web site and clicking on each part of Maryland.

Record your numbers on your own paper.

After you’re done collecting your data you may want to check out the parks in your region.  Then save that site and tell your parents about a great place to go to relax and unwind after a busy week.

Then create a bar graph on poster board comparing the 4 regions.  Go to the following site if you need help in remembering how to create a bar graph.  Don’t forget to label the axis, title the graph and divide the graph into equal intervals.
