Here I Come to Save the Day!

The following list of resources are perfect for a Language Arts teacher in middle schools.  Here, find worksheets, games, puzzles, and more!

English Grammar

The Blue Book  – This online book of grammar has wonderful links to all parts of speech and grammar usage.  There are links to rules, worksheets, answer keys, and quizzes.

General Sites

Ethemes – A wonderful site for teachers of all subject areas and ages.  Because this site is so huge, this link leads to the home page.  There, one may alphabetically search his or her specific topic.  Language Arts teachers may find links to grammar, writing, reading, and research sites.  The possibilities here are endless!

A to Z Teacher Stuff – This link, specific for sixth to eighth grade Language Arts teachers, provides lesson plans on grammar, poetry, reading, writing, and even a Pigman unit.

Lesson Plan Central – Lesson plans covering all subject areas are available, but the English teacher can link directly to middle school Language Arts lessons.  Lessons range from drama to creative writing, but lack in grammar topics.

Lesson Plan Search – Search for reading, writing, and drama lesson plans.  Find rubrics and thematic units, too!  You may search through various links or by keyword for faster results.

Lesson Plans Page – A page that caters to all!  Find lesson plans, printables, activities, games, and teaching units for almost any topic.  This site features a search by grade and subject, so searching is a snap!

American Teachers – American Teachers is a site that covers much more than just lesson plans (although this link goes directly to lessons), it covers the lessons, politics, issues, certification, safety on the Internet, and much more.

Web English Teacher – This site is a must for any English teacher’s “favorites” list!  It links to virtually any topic that a Language Arts teacher may want.  However, the site is not perfect;  there is no way to search specifically by grade level.  The benefits far outweigh this imperfection, though, because the amount of information is too good to pass up!

TeAch-nology – Lesson plans are ready to be printed from this site!  Any teacher may search by subject area, but the Language Arts teacher will find lessons on poetry, public speaking, phonics, literary analysis, writing, vocabulary, reading, and more!
