All About the States!
We’ve been studying the geography of our country, and now it’s time for you to take it a step further.
Do you a favorite state … one you really want
to learn more about? Well, now’s your
chance! We’re going to explore a really
cool web site that will tell you all sorts of interesting facts about all of
the states. Your job is to pick two
states that you want to know more about, then search this website, KidSpace at the Internet
Public Library, and fill in the graph comparing the similarities and
differences between the two!

Now that you’ve filled in your chart, answer
the following questions in your social studies journal:
1.)
Which state of the two is now your
favorite? Why?
2.)
Are there any similarities between the
two states? What are they? If not, explain why you think there aren’t.
3.)
Are there any differences between the
two states? What are they? If not, explain why you think there aren’t.
4.)
Draw a picture of each state and inside
of it, list the names of the state bird, state flower, and the state song.
When you have completed your chart and your
journal, and your picture, bring them all to Miss Siegel for approval.
