Solar System and Space Shuttles:

A Virtual Field Trip

What better of a first stop during a solar system field trip than a tour of the Milky Way galaxy?

The Milky Way

What is the difference between spiral, elliptical, and irregular galaxies?

In Galaxy Tour tourists are presented with the definitions and pictures of these different types of galaxies. The tour site also shows tourists where our solar system is located on the Milky Way galaxy for reference before learning about our solar system.

Next Stop: The Nine Planets and other phenomena

                    Aurora Lights

Have you ever seen an Aurora or solar eclipse?

At Space: “The Final Frontier” tourists can view anything from the bodies composing our solar system, including meteors and comets; to phenomena, such as auroras, eclipses, and solar eruptions; to space equipment, like the pathfinder and micro rover.

The third stop in our solar system trip is the sun

The Sun

What are solar flares, solar wind, and the fate of the sun?

If you cannot answer the question stated above, your next stop in the solar system trip should be to check out The Sun. Here tourists are taken through a presentation of the sun containing information on the sun’s composition and to the question stated above. Pictures and videos are available for those people who are visual learners.

The last stop in our Solar System field trip: space equipment

Wouldn’t it be nice to take a tour of space shuttles, space stations, and the NASA control room?

At the City in Space website, tourists get the opportunity to “walk” around various places via 360-degree panoramic views manipulated using their computer mouse including a space shuttle, space station, Houston control room, spacecraft tracker, and a shuttle launch among others.
