The Skeletal System
As a beginning to our unit on the skeletal
system, we will read, in brief, about the function and composition of the
skeletal system. Included in the reading passage are divisions of the skeletal
system and bone types. Later on during the week we will learn more in depth
about what is covered in this passage, and more. You will need to go to the
reading The
Skeletal System and while reading answer the following questions.
What are the functions of the skeletal system?
Contrast the terms tendon and ligament.
What are the divisions of the skeletal system?
Name some of the bones that comprise each division. (Hint – I want the names of
individual bones, not groups of bones)
List the types of bones and their descriptions,
along with two examples of where you can find each.
