As we begin to get into our debate over pro-life or pro-choice, it is important to understand the arguments of both sides. Not only will this help us establish our opinions, but it will also help in debating the opposing side. Abortion is a very debatable topic, and has been in the spotlight for years now. There are many people who support each side, and the adamantly believe that what they feel is correct. Many people are under the feeling that it is a mother’s choice as to whether she should have an abortion or not. The opposition feels that if you have an abortion, you are indeed guilty of murder.

http://www.naral.org/ - This is the site for pro choice. These are people who believe the mother has the right to choose whether she wants to have her child, or to have an abortion.

http://www.prolife.com/ - This is the site for pro life. These are people who believe that abortion is murder and should not be done under any circumstances.

Assignment

After looking at both of these web pages and reading them thoroughly, answer the following questions. Answers should be typed.

1) How does President Bush feel about abortion?

2) How many states have banned abortion?

3) Explain some of the main stances for Pro-Choice

4) Explain some of the main stances for Pro-Life.

Now that you have read both sides, write a 2 page paper in which you pick your side and support it. Cite evidence found on the web pages.
