What is a virus?
- A
virus is possibly harmful software that goes from program to program or
disk to disk.
- Viruses
close themselves to make copies and spread it.

How do I get a virus?
- You
can only get a virus by executing an infected program or loading a program
from a disk that is infected.
- You
must download the virus in order to be effected

How do I prevent my computer from getting a virus?
- Make
sure that your computer has some sort of virus protection program that
runs at all times. (i.e.
Norton and McAfee are good programs)
- Only
open emails from known sources.
- If an
email appears to possibly be contaminated with a virus, run your virus
protection program.
- Networked
computers are at a higher risk because they are connected with other
computers.

What do I do if I think my computer contains a virus?

If your computer is running slower than usual
run a virus scan.

Make sure you run a live update once a week to
make sure your virus protection is current.
·
If a virus is found, there should be options
explaining to you how to rid your computer of the problem.
