Physical Education Lesson Plan
Websites
P.E. Central- This is a must view website for Physical Education teachers. There are lesson plans for K-12, and they cover a vast array of units. There is a great welcome page that allows the teacher to navigate to the lesson plan page. Once at the lesson plan page, the visitor can then decide whether they would like to search all of the categories of lesson plans, or search specific categories such as grade levels. Many of the websites are teacher submitted, so it is constantly being updated. Being that I plan to teach middle school, I wanted to see what kind of information it had. There was a wealth of knowledge and help with lesson plans to definitely make this site worthy of being listed first. Not only does this website provide lesson plans for normal Physical Education curriculum, but it also has a section for holiday ideas. I like this because during Christmas time, you can get ideas to incorporate into your lessons.

Lesson Plans Page- This is a very good lesson plan web page. This website contains lesson plans in every subject area and claims to have over 2,500 free lesson plans. There are not as many Physical Education lesson plans on this page as there were at pecentral.com, but there are some very helpful ones. This site breaks the lesson plans down very well, allowing you to first choose the subject area you are interested in, and then allowing you to choose the grade level you are looking for. One good thing about this website is that gives you lesson plans that incorporate other content areas such as language arts and math.

PElinks4U- This lesson plan webpage does not offer the amount of lesson plans that the previous two did, but their lesson plans are extremely in depth and valuable. The welcome screen to this webpage has a pull down menu where the user can choose unit plans. There are about 47 different unit plans many lesson plans all with great detail. Just like pecentral.org, if you have lesson plans that you would like to submit, you can do just email them your plans. There is not much to choose by the visitor of this website, you are subject to view which ever lesson plans they have. You do not get to pick grade level, which is something that I would change.

Game Lesson Plans- This webpage has a great selection of lesson plans for alternative games as opposed to the normal sports that are usually covered. All of the lesson plans are submitted by Physical Education teachers around the country. Some of the lesson plans are very organized and drawn and others are not as thorough and not as descriptive.
