Objective:
Students will be able to identify and locate online sources related to International holidays and celebrations.
Objective:
Students
will write about the different holidays and share their information with other
classmates so that they will become aware of these International holidays.
Students will also share their knowledge they found online to help educate
their peers.
Information:
Since most of you are either from or have
family members from another country (outside of the USA), most of your
classmates are curious to know about different aspects of your cultures. One
aspect to focus on during this time of the year is International Holidays.
For this course module, the activity
includes visiting the various websites listed below for you to explore and
learn about the different International holidays and other celebrations. You
will read about the different components of these holidays and share this
information with your classmates.

section of this module to begin your international celebrations exploration.

you have explored some of those sites and you think you have a good idea about
the different international holidays, follow the directions to complete this
chart. Click
here to print out a copy of it.
Assignment:
Your assignment is to choose 1 of the international holidays you chose to add to your chart. You will write a paper based on the information from your chart. It should contain about 4-5 well written paragraphs. You will then follow the rubric below to do an oral presentation to your class.
For the paper, you may import 5 clips from the websites you visited. These clips must be of some significance/importance to the holiday celebration you chose to share. For example, a paper about Christmas could include an imported clip of a Christmas tree or people exchanging gifts.
Submission:
After
completing the written assignment, you can post your document as an html file
to the school’s server and send me an e-mail message containing a hot link and
the URL.
This rubric is for the written component that you will post on the server.
