Audience: Upper Elementary to Middle School Students
Introduction: 
The history and culture of Ancient Egypt existed
over 3000 years ago. Their history is rich with culture and they were very
innovative people. Through this web drop-in, we will read about 3 forms of
their written language. We will learn about the symbols that were used and
discuss the various types of materials they used to write their
information onto for reading it.
First, you will need to go to this website and read about their 3 forms of
writing.

1. After
reading the information about the 3 forms of writing that were developed by the
Ancient Egyptians, name these forms.
2. Describe each form of
writing. Include information stating what kinds of materials were used to
display their written language. Also discuss information about the
different services or programs where each kind of writing was used.
3. Click onto papyrus and read information
about it. What is this and what was it used for
during this era? Describe the process used
to make the sheets.
Journal Activity:
Look at each picture posted below from the
website. In your journal, write 4-5 sentences about each picture giving details
that include the type of Ancient Egyptian writing used on each picture. Be sure
to also include information about the type of material that it was written
onto.
