Student Publishing
on the Web

How many of us have
dreamed of being “published” and/or publishing exemplary work from our
students? I know I have…dreamed…dreamed of walking up to accept my Nobel Prize
for Literature…! Well, that’s never going to happen, but publishing our
students’ exemplary work can happen? How? Read below and find out!
Safety is the big
issue when publishing student works on the internet. What is proper to publish?
How does a teacher publish his/her students’ work? What factors need to be
taken into consideration when publishing student work? Read the two following

After reading
information on publishing “dos” and “don’ts” I suggest you create a permission
form for your students and their parents to peruse and sign. Your district might
already have a form – does it need to be updated according to new laws and
regulations? Is it fine as it stands? Do you want to create your own tailored
to your wants and needs? Below is a sample permission form.

Dear
Parents/Legal Guardians,
For the
purpose of sharing with the community the exemplary work of YCST students, the
