The End is Near...!

Well, I’ve never been a very good journal keeper – and I’m an historian! I’ll die and no one will have any of my written word(s) to make a PBS special out of!! But, I can’t fake it! I used to get those girlie diaries when I was a kid – the pink ones with the little silver key – yeah, I wrote in them for about two to three days and then thought – I’m not writing this stuff down – heck, I’m doing it!! As an historian, I’m ecstatic that there are those who aren’t like me – I love reading and watching their PBS specials!

But, for 521, I actually did keep a journal – albeit a sad looking one – but a journal of sorts nonetheless! I’ll be honest and tell you that I didn’t write down too many URLs that I visited. See?! I can’t take the time, just like with the pink diaries with the silver key! But I did bookmark a lot of them and categorized them into folders for my future lesson/unit use!

I set-up my log on a daily “dear diary” type basis! I dated a new day, put the time I started “doing” course work, online, etc. and then just wrote down what I did, who I talked to, who helped me, I cursed Buddy’s name a few times – nothing fancy!

My final notation in my journal is from an incident that happened today…

Colin asking, with a smile on his face, “Mommy, will you play a game with me?”

Me replying, with a look of agony on mine, “I can’t right now, baby, I have to…”

Colin’s reply, with a look of anger on his face, and spitting while he talks, “I know…do your stupid course…I hate your stupid course…you’re always on the computer…always on line…and now I have to play with Mikey!! GET OFF THE COMPUTER!”

To which I reply, “I’m sorry, honey…I understand your frustration, welcome to my world…don’t speak to me using that tone of voice…go to your room!”

Ah, love!

This article was okay – wanted to read it to see if it would change my mind – nope, still not a big fan of long distance learning – maybe if one lives in the

Australian outback!

Good article, feds are trying to protect our children, gives reader sites for online portfolio protection, etc.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable course! I don’t think I remember working this hard in the past ten years!
