Online Shopping Security Tips

It is important for those that shop online to be smart when making purchases.  Here are some important things to keep in mind.  Have fun shopping online!

1.               Always make sure the Internet connection is secure.  Many sites use special technologies that encrypt credit card numbers.  Otherwise your credit card information may be vulnerable to outsiders.

2.               Be aware of the return and refund policy.  Some sites allow returns to physical stores while others may require the item be shipped back to them.  Each website that you order from should list phone numbers and addresses so that if there is an issue a live person is easily reachable.

3.               Keep passwords private.  Use a combination of numbers and letters when creating passwords.  Change your password often.

4.               Use a specific credit card for making online purchases.  Check your statement often to ensure that no fraud to your account has occurred.
