Lesson Plans
Elective

Imagine that you
are sitting home on a Sunday night with school the next morning. You are starting a new unit tomorrow in all
of your classes. Of course, you waited
to the last minute to plan your day. What
to do? Well, just check out these
awesome lesson plan websites for ideas.
They include many different grade levels and activities. Get ready for some fun searching.
This website
includes ideas for teachers of all grade levels from preschool through high
school. Users can search through lessons
as well as submit some of their own. The
lesson plan page is organized by grade level to make it easier for searching. There is also a section on the site for
adaptive PE ideas. Health teachers would
also find this site helpful since there is a link for health lesson plans. Assessment ideas are also available. This site has anything and everything that a
PE teacher could want.

Users can search
this site for lesson plan ideas, assessment ideas, and classroom management
techniques. One issue is that the ideas
are not grouped by grade level. Users
have to search through and see if the lessons or ideas are appropriate. They do ask that if you use a lesson plan to
reciprocate and submit one so that others may use. This site also includes links to other sites
that contain lesson plans for physical education.

I clicked on P.E.
and Health and then Gr. PreK-1 and found an enormous amount of lesson plans
grouped by different topics such as games/relay races, health and fitness,
sports, as well as ideas for integrating PE into other subjects. The site is organized by subject and grade
level and includes all sorts of subject areas.
A lot of the ideas on the site are not actual lessons in the normal
lesson plan format but they can be used to fit your needs.

Though not a
typical lesson plan page, this site gives teachers (not just Physical Education
teachers) ideas for games to play with students. Games can be viewed several different ways,
by category, by searching or by looking for favorites. When it is too cold to go outside classroom
teachers may find some of the games found on this site helpful for recess
games.

Physical Education Lesson
Plans
This site has
numerous lesson plan ideas for users to search through. It is not organized in any manner so make
sure you have a lot of time sift through what is out there. The ideas contained on this site can be
modified to fit the level and ability of the class.

Users can search
this site based on the grade level that they teach. There are only a few ideas for each grade
level and the high school section is just for physical fitness. But, the plans are written in a format that
is easy to follow so this is a site that may be helpful if you are teaching
specific units.

The lesson plans on
this site are submitted by teachers who have used them before and have had
success. After the name of the activity
the appropriate grade level is listed so that users can choose whether or not
to read the link. It is interesting to
see the different ways that teachers create lesson plans. The variety is incredible.
