Write a Funny Poem

April is Poetry month.  We are going to celebrate by writing and illustrating funny poems inspired by Kevin Nesbitt.

1.              Enjoy 5 or 6 of Kevin Nesbitt’s funny poems.  Try not to fall out of your chair! The poems are hilarious!

2.          Read Kevin Nesbitt’s suggestions for writing funny poems.

3.          Now it’s your turn to write a funny poem.

a.                     Write at least two stanzas, four lines each.

b.                    The rhyming pattern should be either abab or aabb.

c.                     Write a rough draft on scrap paper first then type your final   copy.

d.                    Print and illustrate your funny poem.

4.          Share it with the class to celebrate Poetry month!
