The Newbery Award

We will be starting a Newbery Unit.  You will read and critically analyze a Newbery Award winning novel.  First, let's learn all about the award.

1.  Read all about the Newbery Award.

2. Print the research worksheet and answer the questions about the award.

3. Now that you know all about the Newbery award, create your own book award.  Establish criteria, describe the application process, and determine how it will be awarded.

4.  On a separate piece of paper, design a medal to go along with your award.
