The Real Johnny
Tremain is a post-reading Web Quest challenging the students to check the
author’s homework. The students work in
small groups to compare historical events in the book to Internet sources. Each student in the group has a unique
focus. The end result is a Power Point
presentation to summarize the group’s findings. Students combine Language Arts and History to complete the Task.

Imagine if you
could travel through time to Greek and Roman Mythology! The task is to work in small groups to
create a newsletter about events in Greek and Roman Mythology. The students must find newsworthy stories on
the web as well as pictures to include in the newsletter. The web quest is excellent but the rubric is
not set up in a chart. It is in
paragraph form.

Cinderella,
A New Twist on An Old Tale
Virtually every
culture has a Cinderella tale. The purpose
of this Web Quest is to use a Cinderella tale to tell about Ancient Greek
culture. The students work in small
groups, read Cinderella tales from several societies and research Ancient Greece. The final product is to create a Cinderella
tale that would have been told in Ancient Greece. Two English Units are touched upon in this truly creative expedition!

Nessie. They must use both Internet and

Each group makes a Power Point presentation showing what they

rubrics for both individual roles and group collaboration.
