Copyright Activity- This activity shows my understanding of copyright laws and how I would properly use technology in the classroom and teach copyright to my students.

Internet Course Module- Involve your students in creating guidelines and appropriate search engines for your classroom. This module provides a list of websites that are created to insure the safety of students while using the internet. This module came be used to help students see the possible dangers on the internet and ways to avoid them.

Search Engine Activity- Compiled is an annotated bibliography of search engines I would recommend to others bases on different categories which include, overall search engine, kid safe, new and media, sports, and health.

Web Drop-in 1 – This is an interactive web activity for students in 3rd grade and can be altered to accommodate both upper and lower grades. During this activity students will learn safety tips for Halloween and complete a quiz. Upon completion of this quiz, Halloween safety experts will be awarded with a certificate to show their achievement of Halloween safety.

Web Drop-in 2- Web activity for 5th grade students to relate animal instincts to human hero characteristics. Students will read three short articles online about animal heroes and then write a paragraph about the similarities between animal heroes and human heroes.

Web Drop-in 3- This is a current events reading and writing activity for 3rd to 5th grades about Hurricane Isabel. During this activity students will read online articles about the hurricane, take notes about facts, and add their personal connections to write their own news reports about the hurricane.

Web Drop-in 4- This web activity is focused on finding the facts about heart disease and introducing students to healthy ways of living to start preventing heart disease in childhood.

Web Drop-in 5- This web activity is focused on educating students in elementary school about the importance of Veteran’s day. Along with the online reading, students will take part in cooperative grouping to generate ideas about how their school can appropriately honor veterans on Veteran’s Day.

Web Link Bibliography – A collection of websites focusing on American History, great for elementary grades. Topics include overall American History, my favorite American History sites, sites about the American Government including information about Presidents and their First Ladies, and site that are specific to the history of Maryland and the Washington D.C area.

Webquest- A three or four day activity focusing on sharks for 3rd or 4th graders. This webquest is great for getting students ready for a field trip to the Baltimore Aquarium.

v    Citing Internet Resources- This elective includes my recommendation for Write Source an online recourse for citing online documents in MLA format. It also includes correct examples of citation for different online text.

v    Newsletter- This is an activity that gives my personal review of two online newsletter, Education Week and School Technology Authority, both newsletters and web based. Subscribers are set free updates of the newsletters.

v    Publication-I have compiled a list of 5 online publications that are specific to improving the education of primary students through technology. The publications I have selected provide journals that give valuable information on improving classroom structure, teaching, lesson plans and more to make learning through and about technology in the primary grades the best that it can be.

v    Hoaxes & Myths- My thoughts and feelings towards hoaxes and myths that are spread via email. I have also talked about ways for people to keep them out of their “inbox.”
