Ready-Reference Scavenger Hunt
What is the state flower of New York?
What is the birthstone for someone born in the month of July?![]()
A Ready-Reference question is a kind of question that can be answered quickly by consulting one or two standard reference tools, such as almanacs, encyclopedias or dictionaries. The answers to a ready-reference question are usually a single fact or a short answer. Often, these questions will begin with who, what, where, or when.
The Fact Monster web site combines an atlas, an almanac, a dictionary and an encyclopedia making it an ideal place to answer ready-reference questions! Check out the Fact Monster site at: http://www.factmonster.com/
Each of the following scavenger-hunt questions involves finding two or more tidbits of information that will help you answer the first part of the question.
(1) How many stripes are on the flag of the state where this civil rights leader who made the famous "I have a dream" speech was born?
