| Mission |
The media center is a welcoming environment that provides access to information, collaboration with faculty, and instruction to students encompassing all information literacy outcomes. |
| Vision | The media center is open and welcome to all people and will never discriminate against anyone for any reason including age, background, culture, disability, race or viewpoint. The media center ensures that everyone is given freedom to access information, whether intellectually or physically, in a variety of formats. As the media specialist I will collaborate with faculty to provide instruction that incorporates the curriculum. I will also ensure that each child is provided with interesting and meaningful lessons and activities that teach the information literacy outcomes listed below. Students will be encouraged to satisfy their curiosity about the world around them, discover and value their personal interests, seek answers to their questions, explore different cultures, ideas and viewpoints. As well as teaching how to use the latest technology, find appropriate resources and evaluate information for accuracy and relevancy, I will also nurture and develop a life-long love of reading in all students. |
