Summery and Purpose: This site has been created for
the purposes of both teachers and students in their quest for information about
the works of artists and the lives they lived. This is also a great site for
students to get to see the works of their favorite artists and to have their
own copies of them., without ever having to set foot in a museum.
AUGUSTE RODIN- If
you love Rodin, then you will love this site. Created by the museums that carry his name,
this site contains a detailed history of the artist including a timeline,
pictures of the artwork that made him famous, and descriptions of what
motivated him to create the different pieces.

JOHN WILLIAM
WATERHOUSE- This is a wonderful site filled with the works of
the pre-raphealite painter, John William Waterhouse. There are thumbnail sketches that follow along with the events of
his life and give the motivation behind his paintings. You will either have to

VINCENT VAN GOGH-
This site contains a vast and detailed description of Van Gogh’s life and
works. There a links to pages detailing the works he did in different locations
as well as his self portraits. There is also a lengthy biographical text.

painter. There is also and extensive biography of the events which shaped his

Julia was a pioneer of photography and the creative spirit. This site has two
links for information about her life as well as a few pictures of her work.

MATISSE- Find out the details of the life of arguably the most famous
French painter of the 20th century. His life is separated into the different
