Here is not
merely a nation, but a teeming nation of nations.

Introduction
Everyone in
America is an immigrant. Do you know where your ancestors immigrated
from? Do you know when they immigrated? Americans have immigrated
from all over the world for different reasons. Some individuals migrate
to America for a better life, while others flee their country for safety.
In this activity you will be part of a group that will investigate four
waves of immigration. You will become an "expert" on a particular
time period, which you will present to your group.
After everyone in your group has
presented, your group will look for trends in migration by looking for
similarities and differences in immigration.
