INTERNET FILTERING

PRO                                        CON

The First Amendment does not protect obscenity and
child pornography.
The Sites filtered or blocked are not always of pornographic
content
(please click to see a listing of blocked sites).
Pornography shapes values and attitudes concerning
degradation of women and molestation.
Many things that we see on the Internet are not always what
they appear to be (i.e. child sex acts)
Pornography effects everyone, like a pollution and
needs to be restricted.
The placement of blame on media for "moral disintegration"
and violence is not a new issue or concern. It is the responsibility
of an adult/guardian to mold their children.
Pornography can easily be found on the Internet and
unassuming and unwilling people can become victim to it.
For example, www.cinderella.com is a porn site...who
would have thought?
Libraries are designated facilitators and centers of free thought,
free ideas, and free knowledge.
Pornography is destructive and it destroys families,
relationships, and lives.
Filters discriminate and block based largely on language
usage
( please click to view on article on filtering).
