Introduction |
Scanning is a wonderful tool
in which you can insert your own signature or artwork into a web posting or
personal document. There are many
different types of scanners. The main
ones are flatbed and feeders. The type
of scanner you posses may determine the amount of creative freedom you have. Flatbed scanners provide the ability to
scan larger and multi-dimensional objects.
Feeder scanners, on the other hand, limit your scanning capabilities
to two dimensional objects not much larger than legal size paper. Teachers can use scanners as a method to
create their own graphics for web pages and other class assignments. There are sites that offer valuable advice
on how to more effectively use scanners in order to create clearer images. |

Assignment |
Scan at least five different
items. Each item should be of a
different media such as, artwork, photograph, typed document, or a
graph. If you have a flatbed scanner,
get even more creative by scanning items with dimensions or items that are too
delicate to be scanned by feeder such as fall leaves, spring flowers, rubber
bands and paper clips, a collage or hands.
Use the images you have scanned to create a web page listing the tips
you found most useful or your own insights. Post your page to your web
site and link it to your index page. Notify your instructor that you have
posted the page. |
