I visited all three of the
gaming sites listed and experienced a little of each in an attempt to find
something to my tastes.
I was not impressed with the last two sites listed as they really didn't have much
that appealed to me. I am not a big fan of board games. However, I was
impressed with the variety of board games that were available at MPOGD.Com
or
http://www.mpogd.com/games/board/index.asp.
I had not realized that there were that many board games available on the
web. The vogclub
site was a little aggravating that it took so long to download the necessary
software in order to even get started playing games. I had to make four
attempts to download the software since it took so long and I was having login
problems.
The site that I loved was the yahoo game
site. There was a wonderful variety of types of games as well as different
games within each category. I tried a couple of types of games from puzzles to
chance. Elvis=Lives was a fun puzzle game where I had to unscramble words that
were connected. The last three words in a series were related in some way to
the beginning word. However, I chose to become an expert at bingo. I have
played bingo on other websites that specialize in bingo and found it
interesting as well as fun to play bingo in a different 'virtual hall'.
Although, other bingo sites have different topics or themes you could play
under, yahoo bingo was kind of boring, yet less distracting without pictures
moving around in the background or paintball or flower numbers.
There were several different types of games from fast to slow. Usually the
caller goes at the same speed for every type of game on a site. I found it nice
to also be able to select how many cards I wanted to play. Other bingo sites
give you three cards with no option for more or less. I did find that the
lightening bingo and the 6 and 8 card bingo went at a
good speed for those amounts of cards, but the 3 card game crawled on endlessly
so I gave up on it.
There was also wide variety of game patterns. The site didn't just use
traditional straight line/four corners bingo. There were also some more obscure
patterns above and beyond the 'T' , 'X' and '7'.
On the down side of this, I also noticed that the caller called numbers
that were not necessary to certain patterns, which was annoying. For
example, in the 'H' pattern, there are no valid numbers in the 'N' column which
count towards forming the letter 'H'. In that case, I had to wait for the
next number to come up that actually counted for the game which made that game
crawl.
All this gaming inspired me to look for other game sites for other games I
would enjoy. In this search, I came across the Boxerjam.com site. The games on this site
are not only fun, but can be educational ;) .
For instance, in the game 'Strike-A-Match, I found that you really have
to know you stuff in order make the correct matches with word associations.
