I will not give out personal information of
any kind (e.g., full name, address, telephone number, social security number,
etc.), over the internet.
II.
I will not use the internet without the
supervision of the media specialist or one of my teachers.
III.
I will not use the school computers or
internet for personal business of any kind (i.e., internet searches unrelated
to school assignments or projects, online chatting unrelated to an educational
project).
IV.
I will not use the school computers or internet
to intimidate, bully, or otherwise harass my fellow students or others outside
of the school setting.
V.
I will not use the school computers to conduct
any kind of illegal or illicit activity. This includes:

Commission of
copyright violations, such as illegally downloading and/or copying music files,
movies, pictures, or software
ü
Communication or
posting of racially offensive, sexist, or homophobic comments
ü
Uploading or
downloading any computer viruses or unauthorized software
ü
Invasion of
someone else’s privacy such as reading their e-mail, accessing their
files without permission, attacking their websites or computers
VI.
I will not damage the school’s computers
(hardware or software) in any way. I understand that, if I do, my parents may
be held financially responsible for replacing damaged computer hardware or
software.
VII.
I will use the school computers and
internet for educational purposes with appropriate supervision by the media
center specialist or one of my teachers.
VIII.
I will use the school computers in a way
that is respectful and courteous to my fellow students and the faculty
IX.
I will tell the teacher or media
specialist if I experience any problems with my computer or the internet that I
cannot resolve myself
X.
I will tell my teacher or the media specialist
if someone solicits personal information from me online.
XI.
I will tell my teacher or the media
specialist if I encounter anything online that offends, frightens, or angers
me. I understand that my teachers and/or the media specialist will not blame me
or seek to restrict my internet privileges because of someone else’s
inappropriate behavior online or because offensive material has come through
the school’s internet filters onto my computer.
I understand that failure to
comply with any of the guidelines set forth in this agreement may result in the
suspension or termination of my computer and/or internet privileges at school,
and may further result in my parents or guardian being held liable by the
school or the authorities for my misconduct.
