Teacher Worksheets

The following is a list of links that would be used to enhance a unit about plants, mammals, and fish in the sea. This unit would be taught in a third grade science class to introduce underwater environments. The links will take you to worksheets or sites where the theme is discussed or skills will be reinforced.

 

1. Learning Page- This site provides teachers with free worksheets and materials. The worksheet linked is identifying animals in the sea.

 2. Comparing Plants to animals- Teach-nology. This site provides lesson plans, worksheets and graphic organizers. I chose this site in particular so students could use the Venn diagram to compare and contrast plant and animal characteristics.

3. Whale Word Find- Kids Page Archive - This link takes the student or teacher to a word find about whales. This sheet would reinforce skills or facts learned about the mammal part of the unit. Also included in this site are: lesson plans, and craft ideas for science as well as for other subject areas.

4. Tutorial World- This site links educators to all subject areas. This particular link will link to a worksheet about animals, so students can compare animals on land to those in the sea.

5. First School Years- This site provides teachers with worksheets and lesson plans in all subject areas. I searched for plants and animals and found a worksheet comparing the two groups.

  1. Gander Academy- Support for Whale Lessons- This site has a ton of worksheets on whales. It also links to whale organizations. It tells all about whales and their characteristics, behavior, etc.

  4. This site has pictures, research, and lesson plans as well as worksheets on sea environment, animals in the oceans and all about dolphins. The worksheets are free.

     

  5. School Discovery Puzzlemaker. This site allows teachers to make puzzles based on their curriculum. It allows words from content areas to be in all kinds of puzzle formats. Students can use this site to make puzzles too.

This site has loads of educational helpers. There are worksheets, lesson plans, and reading comprehension activities. I have included a comprehension activity on the basics of fish for the underwater environment unit.

10. The Mailbox Companion- This is a subscription page to the Mailbox Magazine. It is useful to download worksheets, lesson plans, and other activities in all subject areas.
