Bookmark your Favorites in Internet Explorer
Objective- The student will become familiar with using the web browser - Internet Explorer.
Objective- The student will learn how to use favorites tool on Internet Explorer.
Objective - Then the student will utilize the favorites tool to make of list of their most used sites.
Introduction- Tired of trying to recall where you found that perfect web page? Can't remember what keywords you used in your search? The favorites tool on your Internet Browser can be used to effectively and efficiently store those favorite sites. It is important for the novice internet users to first develop an understanding of how the web browser - Internet Explorer works and then to make use of the favorite tool.
Reading - Visit the following sites to develop a general understanding of how Internet Explorer works.
Microsoft - This is the companies how-to page. There are several sections on how Internet Explorer works with links to other pages that will show you step by step how to do just about anything on the web in their program. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/default.mspx
Learn the Net- Another great site with a ton of information about how to use the Internet. The page is laid out with several links to how to pages. http://www.learnthenet.com/english/index.html
Activity - Visit one or both of the sites listed above again, and now focus on how the use the Favorite tool. Use the following links to help you

Your Assignment - Make a minimum of five folders with accurate labels that fit the contents. Place at least three web sites in each folder.
Submission
When you have completed your assignment, please email me with an attachment your favorites. The directions below will tell you how to do this.
1. Open up a blank Microsoft Word document and minimize it by hitting the _ button at the top right of your screen.
2. Open up Internet Explorer and then click on Favorites to open it.
3. Click on each folder so it is open to show all of the contents.
4. On your computer keyboard should be a print screen button, press it once.
5. Maximize your Word document by clicking on it at the bottom of the page.
6. Click on EDIT and when the pull down menu appears - click paste.
7. You should have what your screen looks like on the page.
8. Save the Word document and then attach it as an email.
