Lesson Plans

Teachers.net- is a great site for lesson plans and much more. The intro page does have some advertising, but it also has links to lesson plans, chat boars. job opportunities, articles, and many other items. The lesson plans were easy to obtain either by categories or searching by topic.

EdHelper.com - another great teacher resource. There is a small catch, if you want all of the site it will cost you about $20 a year - but defniately worth it. There are great trade book lesson plans, puzzle maker and an enorumous supply of worksheets and ideas in all areas.

Eduplace.com- this site is maintained by Houghton Mifflin. Since we use their math and reading textbooks, this site provides extra resources, lesson plans and support for us. The site allows you to pick a subject area and then a specific grade level.

Proteacher.com - if you are looking for reading lesson plans - then this is the site for you. It does offer both primary and intermediate, but I chose the intermediate links based on the grade I teacher. I like how this site offers great headings that can lead you to good discussions with kids, books for them to choose or other ways to use literature circles.

Readwritethink.org - a great resource of information laid out in a table format for you to choose. Plenty of lesson plans in reading and writing available and resources that my make the lesson even easier. The International Reading Association, the National Council for Teachers of English and the MacroPolo Education Foundation put out this site.
