Students and teachers may access the following websites to find different genres of books.  They will access links to individual book titles, authors and reviews written by other students.   They will be able to write their own reviews, subscribe to newspapers and correspond with other schools.

 

World of Reading-
 

This site is posted by the Ann Arbor District Library.  Students may see reviews written by other students and may browse by subject and title.  Students may choose a location, which links to schools in other countries.  They may also write a book review of their own.

Meet Booker T. Worm who will introduce students to authors and award winning books.  Students may also sign up for a free newsletter.  They may answer opinion polls and see what other students think.  They may write to their favorite authors, do word scrambles and read amusing trivia.

Reading Corner -
 

This site is maintained by Mona Kirby.  Students will find detailed book reviews for grades 2-8, which have been written by Western Maryland College undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in literature classes.   Many informative links take readers to Caldecott, Newbery, State Awards, Mid-Atlantic authors, and non-fiction sites.

Spaghetti Book Club -
 

This site contains links to authors, titles reviewed by kids, and reviewers by grade levels.  It also has a link for schools and groups and a literacy link.  Schools may correspond with each other through the clubhouse.   The site is maintained by a company titled Happy Medium Productions.
 


 
 

CBC for Kids -
 

Students may submit their original stories here.  This site allows for student creativity.  For example, it includes a story starter.  Students will find book reviews by kids, authors and more.  It is maintained by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Scholastic Kids Fun Online -

Students may browse such categories as Animal Lover and Kid At Heart to find book reviews.  They may join a Harry Potter discussion chamber, find authors and illustrators.  Remember that Scholastic is in the book sales business.
