Before doing anything else, write down 4 different ways you think you can get infected with HIV. This part will not be graded as right or wrong.

After your list of four is complete read this article and write down 4 proven ways you can become infected with HIV.

Write a one to two paragraph response on how your lists compare. If you were misinformed on some of the possible ways to transmit the disease, where did you get that information? What can we do to inform people so they have all the right information? Were there anyways you can become infected that you didn’t know about?

This site has a wonderful collection of graphically presented statistics that I think deserve a lot of attention. Take a look at all the slides and orient yourself to the kind of information they are presenting. Once you have seen them, take a second look at slides 5 and 1 and pay particular attention to your ethnic column.

Write at least two paragraphs about what you see when you look at these slides. For Slide 5: What trends do you notice for your particular ethnicity/race and how does it compare to the other groups? What kind of alternations to a traditional education program could we make to cater to your ethnic group? For Slide 1: How could we explain the levels? What do you think we could do to prevent another rise in HIV cases? How will this information affect your behaviors?
