The activity allows the students to simulate the pumping heart by opening and closing their hands to show just how much effort the heart requires.

2.                        Bones, Bones, and More Bones: This website contains a lesson plan that helps the student understand the make up of the different bones in the human body as well as the function of the main skeletal subgroups. It is originally designed for 2-3rd graders, but could be adapted for higher grades.

3.                       The Leg Bone is Connected to the…: This lesson plan is comparable to the other bone lesson plans but it is more specific in its goals for the students, and it also involves comparing the bone anatomy of a human skeleton to the anatomy of other animals and seeing the differences and similarities between the two.

It also provides the opportunity for students to analyze the choices that lead to unhealthy hearts and cholesterol levels.

The site provides overheads, worksheets, and specific instructions for the lesson. Highly recommended for any classroom learning about the heart, veins, and arteries.

7.                       Smoking Lesson: The lesson involved in this site is focused on the harmful lung and body effects that come from smoking cigarettes. It is not so much an anatomy lesson of the lungs, but rather a very beneficial lung lesson on how to maintain healthy lungs and keep them strong and reliable.
