6+1 Trait Writing - This site is by the creators of the 6+1 writing traits and therefore considered to be the “official” 6+1 writing traits website. The page explains the concept and contains a vast amount of information for all grade levels.

Combining literature and 6+1 Traits - Great resources for finding literature appropriate for each trait. This site provides titles of books and authors which demonstrate each trait. Lists are plentiful and contain frequently used books.

Kim’s Korner for Teacher Talk - 8th grade ILA instructor’s website with great ideas for 6 + 1 Traits and many other ILA areas. Many lessons can be modified to fit lower grade levels.

Discover Writing with Barry Lane - The author of this site believes reading and writing should be fun. Primarily, this site sells products, books, and seminars for teachers. However, the page also contains numerous lesson plans for teachers and includes a kids page just for students. Students of all ages can share favorite books, enter contests and even learn new words.

Sowams Curriculum Seminars (Writing) - This site contains information on 6+1 Writing traits, Stages of writing development, and parent tips. Parent tips are added weekly to help them with their children’s writing. The writing standards used for Rhode Island elementary schools are included.
