Search Tips

1. Be as specific as possible. There is so much information on the web that you will need to narrow down the search results as much as possible.

2. When you search for multiple words, results will contain all words. If searching for a phrase, use quotation marks to get only results with complete phrase not individual words. “Baltimore Orioles”

3. Through stemming, most search engines will find variations of a word. (ie. When searching for teach, results will be given for teach, as well as teaches and teaching.)

4. Exclude common words such as “and” and “the”. (ie. type “peanut butter jelly” or “Cat Hat”)

5. Use a category search when searching for words containing multiple meanings (ie. search for MLB > Sports> Orioles rather than “Orioles” which will give results of birds and baseball.)
