Dear Parents,

         As part of your child’s education, he/she will using the internet throughout the year. In order to provide your child with safe access to the internet our school computers have been equipped with a filtering software to reduce the risk of accessing inappropriate sites and/or materials.

         As your child’s teacher, I try to improve upon this safe setting by always having at least one adult watching over the students while they are working on the computers. I would also appreciate any volunteers for help during our class time in the computer room. If you would be interested in helping, please let me know.

         Attached you will find a contract that should be signed by the student and by a parent in order for your child to be allowed access to computers while at school. The“contract” contains the expectations of them while using the computers and the guidelines of what to do if a site with inappropriate material is accidentally accessed.
